Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
This is how I make my favorite bowl of oatmeal.
- 1/3 cup regular oats
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/2 chopped apple
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (I like Saigon’s Cinnamon)
- 1/2 T brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground flax seed (Bob’s Red Mill, golden flax seeds)
- Chop 1/2 of any type of apple.
- In a small sauce pan, combine the oats, water, and cinnamon.
- Cook and stir for 5-10 minutes.
- Mix in flax seeds or sprinkle on top.
I like to top my cooked oatmeal with more cinnamon, peanut butter, almond butter, sliced almonds, granola, or extra flax. On occasion I sub out the apple for 1/2 of a banana. This is best when cut up into small pieces and mixed in well.
